Cogito, ergo sum (I think, therefore I am): Does AI Prove a Greater Being?
Talking about artificial intelligence and childhood sci-fi fantasies coming true, it’s evident that imagination can craft reality.
This makes me think back to philosophy class and the works of René Descartes.
“I think, therefore I am,” he said. It sparked a question: If I can think it, could it be real? Like robots taking over the world. Sounds absurd, right? But who knows…
And what about time travel? Did Renes Descartes already prove that artificial intelligence, time travel, and warp speed exist?
If Descartes, living before 1600, suggested that our ability to think independently shows a higher power exists, what does that mean for reality?
Are these thoughts all mine? Or, as Descartes proposed, is someone playing tricks on us?
Are we living in a computer-simulated reality? Like in the Matrix movie? Or is there a higher power at play?
Personally, I believe in free will and independent thought. To me, that means we do exist. Call it science or a higher power, even God. Deep down, I think, and I believe in something greater.
Everyone should be curious and seek answers, including my kids. There are times when their questions outpace me, and occasionally they delve into topics I’d rather avoid. But as long as they keep questioning and thinking, they exist.
